Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2008 im Fachbereich Theologie - Biblische Theologie, Note: 1,3, Universität Paderborn, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: „Ein Jude / eine Jüdin ist kein Jude / keine Jüdin, wenn er / sie nicht täglich mit einem Wunder rechnet.“ Dieser Satz zeigt, dass er sich den jüdischen Glauben nicht ohne Wunderglauben vorstellen kann, aber kann es überhaupt eine religiöse Grundeinstellung ohne Wunderglauben geben? Wunder beziehen sich auf Mächte außerhalb des menschlichen Handlungsbereichs, was jedoch nicht heißen soll, dass menschliche Planungen unnötig seien, sondern Wunder bieten Hoffnung für die Fälle, in denen sich Menschen machtlos fühlen und ihren Ängsten ausgesetzt sind. Diese Hoffnungen haben jedoch alle Menschen und sind nicht von der Konfession abhängig. Von daher sollte der zu Beginn zitierte Satz nicht nur für Juden gelten, sondern für die gesamte Menschheit, denn Wunder sind Werke Gottes, die er dort vollbringen kann, wo Menschen dafür zugänglich sind.
Dass das auch der Fall ist, soll anhand der Bibelstelle Mk 8,22 – 26 gezeigt werden. Es wird die Bibelstelle wissenschaftlich interpretieren, um die Umstände der Handlung zu verstehen und falsche Eindrücke, wie zum Beispiel das nur für Juden der Wunderglaube unerlässlich ist, ausräumen. Dafür werden die methodischen Schritte der historisch-kritischen Exegese genutzt, die als älteste Auslegungsart und als Basis für Interpretationen biblischer Texte gilt. Historisch bedeutet dabei, dass der biblische Text auf seine geschichtliche Situation und die Entstehungsgeschichte hin untersucht wird.
Zu den dafür vorgesehenen Methoden gehören die Literarkritik, die Linguistik, die Formgeschichte, die Traditionsgeschichte sowie die Redaktions- und Kompositionskritik, die wichtig sind, um den Text als Teil der damaligen historischen Kommunikationssituation zu erklären, zu rekonstruieren und somit eine intensive Auseinandersetzung mit dem Text garantieren, um dessen ursprünglichen Sinn weitestgehend zu erfassen.
Da nun wirkliche Beweise fehlen, gibt die folgende Exegese nur Hypothesen ab. Sie umfasst dennoch die wichtigsten Punkte in relativ objektiver Sicht und gilt daher als Basis, da sie den allgemeinen wissenschaftlichen Prinzipien der Freiheit und Kritik entspricht.
