Have you ever wondered what it was like to work with a recording artist? Or what the inside organization of the music biz including the backstage time before a show was really like in the "glamorous" Music Scene? I have recently finished a very in depth, yet easy to read "tell all" with over 85 color photographs, (and a few black and white's) about working in the music biz! I put a very concentrated effort into telling the early days story about Shania Twain, one of the main entertainers I write about. (I was her first Nashville band leader - road manager - steel guitar player.) I believed in and had predicted her success (to many) years before she "Hit it Big!" I felt priveleged to hear, "The Woman In Me", when the song was still just a guitar/vocal demo on a cassette tape... only days after it was written. (Shania played it for me just after returning from meeting with Mutt Lange in Europe and co-writing it!) Have you ever wondered what artists are really like in person, or where career's are going from here? I have worked with or assisted many other "Recording Artists" in getting started in Nashville such as Kenny Chesney, Ken Mellons, Wade Hayes, Jo Dee Messina, Jimmy Olander (Diamond Rio's guitarist), Lisa Bevill, Stacy Dean Campbell, Daryl Singletary, Ty Herndon, The Lynn's, and many, many others over the past 20 years. I now have a recording company - record label here in Tennessee (WMI RECORDS) and have been very happy producing records and just telling people about the "in's and out's of the music biz," (and life in general...) in my book, "THE EARLY DAYS!" This is truly a rare, behind the scenes look at "what it takes" (and what it doesn't) to make it in the Music Biz, with some pretty interestingly funny stories to go along with it. "THE EARLY DAYS" is bound to be a first for anyone who is at all interested in anything I have afore-mentioned, and well worth it for the photos alone! I sincerely hope you enjoy, "THE EARLY DAYS!"
