Aufgrund seiner Besonderheiten ergeben sich jedoch Probleme, die teilweise zu erhöhten Preisen für die Verbraucher und damit zu Wohlfahrtsverlusten führen. Die vorliegende Arbeit vermittelt einen Eindruck der unterschiedlichen Problemfelder des Oligopols und veranschaulicht diese anhand einiger Beispiele aus der Praxis. Insbesondere zeigt diese Arbeit die Schwierigkeiten, die sich für die Wettbewerbspolitik und -behörden bei der Beseitigung der Oliopol-Problematik ergeben. Der Ablauf der Arbeit ist wie folgt: Im zweiten Kapitel erfolgen zunächst eine Marktabgrenzung und eine Definition des Oligopols. Das dritte Kapitel behandelt die theoretischen Modelle der Preisbildung im Oligopol und veranschaulicht diesbezüglich mehrere Ansätze. Im vierten Teil werden die Begriffe Markmacht und Konzentration näher beleuchtet und eine Einschätzung der Auswirkungen auf den Markt dargestellt. Möglichkeiten der Messung von Konzentration und Missbrauch der Marktmacht werden ebenfalls erläutert. Das fünfte Kapitel gibt einen Überblick über Kooperationsformen im Oligopol, erlaubte und unerlaubte Absprachen, und geht noch einmal explizit auf die Preisführerschaft ein. Im letzten Kapitel werden die Ergebnisse dieser Arbeit diskutiert, zudem wird ein Blick auf die Zukunft der Wirtschaftpolitik für das Oligopol geworfen. [...]
