Gibt es gute Gründe dafür, das eigene Dasein in der Welt zu akzeptieren? Was ist der Mensch eigentlich? Dies sind die zentralen Fragen, mit denen sich die theologische Anthropologie auseinandersetzt. Die theologische Anthropologie beschäftigt sich mit den Aussagen der christlichen Glaubenslehre über den Menschen, erfragt deren inneren Zusammenhang und macht ihn dem heutigen Menschen zugänglich. Dabei beschäftigt sie sich insbesondere mit dem Wesen des Menschen und der Bestimmung des Menschen vor Gott. Denn der Mensch kann sich nur dann ganz verstehen, wenn er mehr als sich selbst versteht. Deshalb setzt die theologische Anthropologie beim Selbstverhältnis des Menschen an und zeigt auf, dass zu diesem Selbstverhältnis auch gehört, es zu transzendieren.
Schon immer stellt der Mensch den Anspruch, etwas Besonderes und Bedeutendes zu sein. Die neuzeitliche Wissenschaft allerdings zeigt, dass eine Sonderstellung des Menschen längst überholt ist.
Die theologische Anthropologie fragt aber nicht nur, was es mit dem Menschen auf sich hat, sondern auch, was es mit dem Übel und dem Leid auf sich hat. Fraglich ist auch, ob das Übel in der Welt mit oder ohne Gott gedacht werden muss, denn der biblische Ursprungsmythos ist in dieser Frage nicht eindeutig. In der folgenden Arbeit möchte ich zeigen, was ein ohne Gott gedachtes Übel für die Zustimmungsfähigkeit der Welt bedeutet. Im Mittelpunkt der Untersuchung soll die Frage stehen, ob ein non-theistischer Ansatz dazu in der Lage ist, das Leidvolle am Leiden auf den Begriff zu bringen. Ich werde zeigen, dass das Leiden ohne Gott gedacht, zu einer Entübelung der Übel führt.
