Il conduttore del programma Pagina 3 Edoardo Camurri stava leggendo, nella sua rassegna stampa culturale, le lettere d’amore uscite dalla penna di Maurizio Milani. Arrivavano fresche di stampa dalla rubrica “Innamorato fisso”, che lo scrittore e comico tiene periodicamente su Il Foglio.
L’editore prese così il telefono e chiamò lo scrittore. “Chissà quante altre lettere d’amore avrai nel cassetto”. “Ti sbagli, le ho inviate tutte alle destinatarie”.
Non è stato facile mettere insieme l’epistolario sentimentale di Maurizio Milani, rigorosamente scritto a mano come faceva il giovane Werther. Ma ce l’abbiamo fatta, e possiamo dire che sia l’edizione completa, almeno per il momento, di un noto innamorato cronico di donne perlopiù impossibili, che siano donne del cinema Usa o semplicemente hostess incontrate su un treno ad alta velocità Da Edvige Fenech a Maria Sharapova, da Jennifer Lopez a Sabrina Salerno, da Maria Elena Boschi a Barbara D’Urso. Pienamente conscio dei suoi limiti (“come uomo sono molto brutto. Anche i miei antenati, ma si fidanzarono lo stesso. Era tradizione non offendere”), forse proprio per questo Milani si lancia in una serie di fantasmagoriche, quasi ariostesche avventure in cui quel destiero che è il suo cuore vola a briglia sciolta.
La vena surreale di Milani, mescolata alle alchimie di un sentimento di disarmante purezza, raggiunge il massimo della sua potenza. Il lettore si accorgerà ben presto che questo è più di un libro comico.

Maurizio Milani al secolo Carlo Barcellesi, è nato a Codogno nel 1961. Diplomato perito agrario, è diventato negli anni comico, scrittore, attore teatrale e giornalista italiano. Dal 2003 al 2008 è stato ospite fisso a Che tempo che fa. Ha pubblicato per Bompiani, Baldini & Castoldi, Kowalski, Rizzoli, Aliberti, Barbera. Per Wingsbert House ha pubblicato nel 2014 Saltar per terra causa vino.
